About this Guide

This preface describes the information contained within this Cisco ASR 5000 Series Serving GPRS Support Node Administration Guide. As well, it lists document conventions, related documents, and contact information for Cisco customer service.
This guide provides deployment and feature information for the 2G and 3G Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) services on the ASR 5000 platform. It includes instructions and engineering rules for using its command line interface (CLI) to configure and manage the 2G and 3G SGSN services. As these services are highly flexible and scalable, it is impossible to document every possible configuration so only basic service setup configuration is provided. In addition, functional and configuration information is provided for many of the more complex features available on the system.
